About Pudolla
Activewear for the run, the trail and the sun, from a studio in Denver that started with one pair of shorts.
The short version
The Pudolla range runs to eight benches and 126 pieces: running and gym shorts, hiking and golf shorts, swim shorts, sweatpants and joggers with a tall line, hiking and travel pants, sun shirts, tees and pullovers, and a handful of jackets. Most of it is men's, and the sun shirts, hiking shorts, capris and sweatpants also come in a women's cut.
What Pudolla makers care about is the part of a garment you touch without looking: the pocket that holds a phone still, the liner that means nothing goes on underneath, the inseam that stops where you expect it to. We started in 2019 with a 5 inch running short that fixed the first of those, and every bench since has been an answer to a small annoyance on a run, a trail or a boat.
How a piece gets in
The studio is in Denver, and the team runs and hikes in what it sells. A new cut is worn for a week on the trail and a week in the gym, washed twice, and then argued over. The argument is about pockets and seams, never about colours. If the pocket swings, the piece goes back. If the seam rubs on a long climb, it goes back. What survives goes in the catalogue with the inseam, the pockets and the liner printed on the card.
What this catalogue adds
A page per bench with filters for who it is for, inseam, colour, size and features. A page per piece that names the inseam, the pockets, the liner, the sleeve, the hood, the fabric where the label states it, and every size in that colour with its own price. Three long guides on the things the label leaves out: which inseam and liner, what UPF means and does not, and the fabrics that go up a trail.
What we leave to the maker
UPF 50+, quick-dry, water resistant and breathable are the maker's words, and the pages print them as such. The maker publishes no test report for the range. Buttons open the piece at our retail partner, and payment, delivery and returns happen there. A rating on a page belongs to that piece alone and is never added up across the range.
